A new star in Manchester United is born in the name of Federico Macheda, an Italian national. He did not have to dive to be an instant hit at Old Tafford, he simply scored a stunning goal at stoppage time against Aston Villa on his debut for the Red Devils.
First game, first goal, and still 17 years old. That’s more stunning.
Macheda was formerly of Lazio youth football academy. He transferred to Manchester United on September 1, 2007, and turned professional on August 22, 2008, his birthday. He is regarded as Italy’s next promising star striker. He is equally impressive in the Reserves League, even scoring a hat trick at the turf of Newcastle United.
