Fredy Montero is a Colombian striker currently playing for MLS’s newest expansion team, the Seattle Sounders. Sounders won its inaugural match against the New York Redbulls 3-0, and Montero was the player largely to get the credit for. He scored the first and third goal, while setting up the second one.
The youngster has a good finishing rate. He won the golden boot in the Colombian league in the 2006 and 2007 season.

Many Europeans teams were interest in signing the 21 year old, but he opted for the Seattle club albeit on loan. He probably would leave MLS in two years time.
