Gerard Garner, touted as the Next Rooney, for his scoring that is (hopefully not Rooney’s face).
Garner, an 11 year old schoolboy broke the Ogre-like Rooney’s goal record of 72 in the same Under 11 tournament in 1997. The former totaled 76 goals.
He remains humble despite his achievement, “I don’t really like to think too much about the number of goals I score, the way I score them or which was the best goal. I am only part of the team. I want to thank all my teammates for helping me break the record and also all the people who have helped coach me. I certainly couldn’t have done it without them.”
In 5-6 years time, remember the name Gerard Garner. Rumor has it he may sign for Liverpool.
