Improving Stamina in Football

Liverpool stamina training football soccer

Improving stamina is one of the most vital part in soccer. This is also the most overlooked part by some football teams. Failure to improve on stamina will lose you more games.

1. Jogging – running inside a football pitch is important so as to get familiarized with the ground. Any grassed ground will do, such as parks.

2. Sprints
a. Jog to the first mark, sprint back to the start, jog to the second mark sprint back to the start, etc.
b. Run from the half of the field to the end (along line of goalposts)

3. Sit ups – start maybe 10 counts.

4. Push ups – the body must be straight when pushing the ground with both hands.

5. Running up and down the hill or steps

Increase training one at a time: time, quantity, and distance.
