Steven Defour

Steven Defour’s name was in the news lately when Everton bid for the Stand Liege star. But the bid was turned down. Standard wanted 15 million euros.

At 16 years old, Defour started playing for KV Mechelen, a lower division club in Belgium. He then moved to Genk at age 17. Then on 2006, he signed a five year contract with Standard Liege.

His play resembles that of Arsenal’s Jaime Fabregas, and was even called the “Belgian Fabregas” by the Belgian press.

He has a good eye in creating scoring chances for his team mates.
